Machine Operator

Salary Range: $17 to $20 Hourly

 

Machine Operator

Second- and third-shift positions are available across multiple departments and come with a shift differential of $1.50/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate various machinery to set specifications, tolerances, and dimensions
  • Control and adjust machine settings

Tool and Die Machinist

Salary Range: $25 to $25 Hourly

 

Position summary:  A large percentage of time will be spent setting up and operating the surface grinders, FlexArm Tapping Machine, EDM Machines, and CNC Milling Machines.  Some manual machining using Bridgeport or lathe is possible with occasional time assisting in the assembly of Punch Die Sets.

 

Purpose:  To assist The M. K. Morse Company production team in manufacturing products that meet specifications.

 

Essential functions - The essential functions of the individual would include those assumed for a manufacturing position and include, but not be limited to the following:

 

  • Must always represent The M. K. Morse Company in a professional manner.
  • Set up and operate Surface Grinders, Tapping Machine, EDM Machines, and CNC Milling Machines. 
  • Manufacture, repair, and sharpen tooling, fixtures, dies, and repair parts, per print.
  • Follow department work procedures and standard engineering safety practices.
  • Achieve desired quality expectations by following procedures.
  • Perform general housekeeping, and actively participate in 6-S initiatives.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and maintain compliance with applicable OSHA and EPA guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and experience:

  • Prior machinist experience is a plus but not a necessity.
  • Interested and open to learning new skills.
  • Enjoy working and collaborating with co-workers and engineers.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Engineer Co-Op
 

Position summary: Provide manufacturing with timely and organized technical, process development and information and the tools to efficiently manufacture product.  Perform the engineering functions for new equipment and processes.

Essential functions:
• Works with engineering supervision to develop plans for activities (design equipment, product flow, time study, quality standards, etc.) associated with the manufacturing process, including, but not limited to: design, simulation and building of tools; process development, technical choice and use of perishables (lube, chemicals, tooling).
• Assists in the launch activity to design, simulate, purchase, develop and document equipment associated with the launch of new equipment or processes.  Processes need to meet estimated metrics and be robust to meet manufacturing goals.
• Learns the manufacturing processes to be able to drive the improvements in cycle time, quality and efficiency.
• Gain proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing to review and understand part print design and intention.
• Supports the various departments goals using tools such as but not limited to: experimental design, process flow, simulations, SPC, problem solving.
• Assists with the implementation of cost reduction ideas or projects, which increase uptime, reduce scrap, and increase throughput to meet manufacturing objectives.
• Helps drive implementation and timely completion of both internal and external Engineering Change Notices as assigned.
• Understand and follow corporate procedures to be able to work within the system to effect change.
• Establish and maintain set-up, operator instructions, inspection criteria, equipment parameters, checklists and training materials for all operations.
• Supports the manufacturing area to identify bottlenecks, reduce inventory and non-value added activity.
• Works with hourly employees.
• Uses computer systems to perform data analysis, provide reports, coordinates corrective action and verifies completion.

Skills and experience: 
• Prefer students working towards a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or other engineering discipline.

Customer Service Rep

Position summary:     The Customer Service Representative (CSR) must be able to assist customers with order placement, troubleshoot issues for resolution, process orders through phone, communicate via various mediums (phone, fax, email, chat, etc.), product selection, order shipment details, order discrepancies & collaborate with a diverse team.                     

 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support.
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to customer emails in an efficient manner.
  • Accurately and efficiently enter quotes and orders for customers, distributors, and sales.
  • Assist with customer questions, technical issues and coordination of field Returned Goods Authorizations.

  • Obtain and share customer feedback with colleagues and other departments for continual improvement of products.

Inventory Control Specialist

Position summary: The position will be responsible for maintaining accurate company inventory records for all facilities, including external warehouses.  The position will also be responsible for updating CMS with regards to inventory movement. 

 

Purpose:  To maintain accurate company inventory records.

 

Essential functions - The essential functions of the individual would include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Assist in managing company inventory levels, including raw materials, work in process, finished goods, packaging and consumables.
  • Audit overrides and negatives and put corrective measures in place.
  • Responsible for running all Physical Inventories, including external warehouses.  This includes batch process inventories in CMS and inventories done through the download process in Excel.
  • Training of employees on CMS and proper ways to report.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies within CMS.
  • Verify computations against physical counts and adjust for errors.
  • Perform regular Cycle Counts throughout the plant.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned.

 

Skills and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Prior inventory experience.
  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Familiar with MRP processes.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and kanban methods preferred.
  • CMS Software experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be a self starter.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
