Second- and third-shift positions are available across multiple departments and come with a shift differential of $1.50/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate various machinery to set specifications, tolerances, and dimensions

Engineer Co-Op
 

Position summary: Provide manufacturing with timely and organized technical, process development and information and the tools to efficiently manufacture product.  Perform the engineering functions for new equipment and processes.

Essential functions:
• Works with engineering supervision to develop plans for activities (design equipment, product flow, time study, quality standards, etc.) associated with the manufacturing process, including, but not limited to: design, simulation and building of tools; process development, technical choice and use of perishables (lube, chemicals, tooling).
• Assists in the launch activity to design, simulate, purchase, develop and document equipment associated with the launch of new equipment or processes.  Processes need to meet estimated metrics and be robust to meet manufacturing goals.
• Learns the manufacturing processes to be able to drive the improvements in cycle time, quality and efficiency.
• Gain proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing to review and understand part print design and intention.
• Supports the various departments goals using tools such as but not limited to: experimental design, process flow, simulations, SPC, problem solving.
• Assists with the implementation of cost reduction ideas or projects, which increase uptime, reduce scrap, and increase throughput to meet manufacturing objectives.
• Helps drive implementation and timely completion of both internal and external Engineering Change Notices as assigned.
• Understand and follow corporate procedures to be able to work within the system to effect change.
• Establish and maintain set-up, operator instructions, inspection criteria, equipment parameters, checklists and training materials for all operations.
• Supports the manufacturing area to identify bottlenecks, reduce inventory and non-value added activity.
• Works with hourly employees.
• Uses computer systems to perform data analysis, provide reports, coordinates corrective action and verifies completion.

Skills and experience: 
• Prefer students working towards a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or other engineering discipline. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word
• Excellent communication skills

Technical Service Representative

Position summary: This position is accountable for achieving increased product sales through performance testing, machine maintenance and technical problem solving.

 

Purpose: Sales growth, customer retention, documentation of performance testing

 

Essential functions:

  • Perform machine inspections and limited repair services for customers to make sawing equipment operational and/or achieve optimum performance.
  • Initiate, monitor and document results for saw blade trials
  • Utilize CRM daily to document trials, service work, customer contacts and interactions.
  • Conduct training for both end-users and distributors
  • Good communication with territory salesperson on trial status, scheduling, and objectives for each customer interaction.
  • Must have and maintain a safe driving record, a valid driver’s license and required insurance coverage.

 

Skills and experience:

  • Mechanical aptitude with diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical knowledge of Bandsaw machines or comparable experience that demonstrates the required ability to work on these machines    
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Mathematical capability to track product performance and competitively compare results
  • Use of a CRM to input information on a daily basis (Experience with Salesforce is a plus) 
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to remain productive when customers cancel appointments
  • Coordinate weekly schedule with Territory Managers and adjust for time sensitive issues
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Comfortable presenting/training individuals and small groups
  • Understanding the concept of a sales process and the progressive steps to secure new business
  • Knowledge of sawing equipment, parameters and metallurgy are a plus
  • B2B Sales experience is a plus
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred

Regional Sales Manager

Position summary: This position will develop and manage a regional sales plan utilizing the available sales resources including sales representatives and in conjunction with the Director, Commercial Sales to achieve significant sales growth.


Purpose: To ensure that The M. K. Morse Company is increasing sales, market share and brand recognition.


Essential functions - The essential functions of the individual would include those assumed for a sales management position and include, but not limited to the following:

  • Provide leadership, management and accountability.
  • Generate profitable sales growth.
  • Lead, coach and develop all Territory Managers or independent sales reps in Region.
  • Maintain consistent presence in the field by interfacing with end users, distributors, and TM's.
  • Lead, manage, and maintain relationships with all assigned agencies
  • Must have the ability to sell and manage in multiple sales channels, excluding electrical and plumbing, and utilize a variety of resources including, manufacturer’s sales representatives, and technical support.
  • Pursue appropriate channel representation where current coverage may be lacking or insufficient to significantly grow our market share.
  • Develop goals (sales-quantitative & performance-qualitative) – maximize developing Target/Partnership Program with distributors.
  • Manage sales activities of Independent Sales Agencies related to M. K. Morse. Develop territory (agency) sales goals and corresponding regional sales goals, along with plans of activities to support these goals.
  • Provide direction on developing target key customers/prospects.
  • Provide proactive input for customers with declining sales and steps for correction.
  • Conduct sales meetings with agencies/customers as necessary.
  • Provide on-going sales and product application training to agencies and their sales personnel.
  • Provide pricing parameters to agencies as circumstances warrant.
  • Must comply with all Company policies regarding expenses, travel, itineraries, call reports and pricing approvals.

Skills and experience:

  • 3-7 years of sales and management experience in any of the following sales channels: Construction, Industrial, MRO, Welding or Automotive.
  • Must have experience working with sales agencies and factory salespeople.
  • Excellent communication, including very good written skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales activity reports and respond accordingly.
  • Strong leadership/team building skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products. Experience with salesforce preferred.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Position summary: The position is responsible for overseeing and managing the process engineering team, ensuring that production processes, equipment and systems are implemented and optimized to maximize efficiency, quality and safety. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager requires a strong mindset for continuous improvement, a working knowledge of manufacturing practices, and overall strong leadership characteristics. This Manager is expected to work in collaboration with other departments including Production, Quality, Safety, Maintenance, Advanced Manufacturing, R&D and Marketing to support the company’s vision.

  • Leadership, management, accountability and culture
  • Responsible for team leadership, development, and ownership of team’s accountability and work plans.
  • Oversee all manufacturing processes, equipment improvements, and activities (design of equipment, product flow, time studies, quality standards, etc.) including but not limited to design, simulation and building of tools, process development, technical choice and use of perishables (lube, chemicals, tooling).
  • Project Leader for all Buy Capital Projects.
  • Support and/or drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Facilitates change management execution.
  • Support cost reduction ideas or projects which increase uptime, reduce scrap, and increase throughput to meet manufacturing objectives.  
  • Responsible for creation/ upkeep of process documentation.
  • Manage Projects and Department Budget.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Skills and experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working in the manufacturing industry 
  • Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to review and understand part print design and intention. 
  • Must be a team player, capable of interacting with employees at all levels of our organization.
  • CAD experience 
  • Working Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles/ Applications
  • Working Knowledge of Kaizen Event Methodology and continuous improvement concepts 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to prioritize the Company Vision and Plant Priorities 
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
