Tech Time: How a feed limiter protects your blade

Articles, Power Tool Accessories

Morse Metal Devil circular saw blades are designed to power through all kinds of applications you may encounter on the job. But sometimes – especially for electricians and plumbers – speed can work against you.

In thin materials like Unistrut, EMT and conduit, and steel studs, if you cut too quickly, you run the risk of ripping teeth off the blade.

So Morse engineers implemented a safeguard they knew was needed for the 5 3/8” 32-tooth, 5 7/8” 34-tooth, and 6 ½” 40-tooth Metal Devil steel cutting blades. The teeth were designed with a built-in feed limiter that strikes the workpiece if you are cutting too fast. It limits the bite of the following tooth, making sure you don’t feed too fast and rip teeth off your blade. Watch how it works here.
